HOME MADE NON TOXIC PLAY DOUGH

As the summer breaks begin..begins the hunt for ways and ideas to keep your kids busy,occupied and engaged with something creative and entertaining.

Areeb's vacation started in may and since then I am trying to keep him engaged in something or the other creative.We have made many different creative items using Popsicle sticks,waste cans,paint and play dough.
And when talking about play dough how can I forget to mention that I have tried almost three different ways of making play dough at home.I always try to give Areeb homemade play dough as they are non toxic,free of chemicals and safe to play with and the best part is they can be easily made at home..so if you find one play dough batch coming to end you can make a new one fast and easily.
Here today I am going to share with you all a very easy and simple recipe of play dough which comes out perfect..soft and it stays good for long long times.
So lets begin making the play dough
MATERIALS
1/2 CUP SALT 1/2 CUP WATER 1 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOU…

LUCKNOWI SHEER KHURMA

As the EID celebration has come to an end...I still decided to share my famous SHEER KHURMA's recipe...as many people in personal have asked me that you please share the recipe...

We cannot make the way it is made in EID..

So i thought lets write it down....

Kyunki EID to or bhi aani hai in sha allah and kabhi kabhi yunhi meetha khaane ka mann karta hai and its one most of the easiest dessert that can be made very very easily.

I make this SHEER KHURMA using BANARSI SEWAIYAN......so let me first explain what is banarsi sewaiyan. Banarsi sewaiyan are very very thin and fine quality of sewaiyan and once cooked nicely it kind of feelS like melt in the mouth type of texture.

We get these from INDIA...especially LUCKNOW and are also available in KANPUR..bhai thats what i know..but i think its called banarsi so BANARAS mein to zaroor milti hogi..

You can make it using other type of sewaiyan also..using banarsi is not mandatory..ye to bus hum logon ki zubaan pe uska flavour chadh gaya ha…

I am usually not a very big fan of web series...because of the bold contents and the language used in them..but there are few which actually are worth watching and potray the reality of the world.

ALTBALAJI's THE TEST CASE is one such series...that i started watching on the insistence of my husband...he told me you will love watching it as it has amazing content...and i started watching it with zero interest and as the story progressed i got glued to my laptop and completed it in one go...
Ekta Kapoor has actually proved that apart from making out of the world drama's like NAAGIN..KAWACH and saas bahu sagas like KYUNKI SAAS BHI KABHI BAHU THI...KAHANI GHAR GHAR KI...etc..she is actually capable of making some amazing sensible contents...
Lets talk about the series and then i will tell you guys what i felt about it..

RICE FLOUR PHIRNI RECIPE

During RAMADAN there is a tradition in our MASJID....that everyone visits the masjid for iftar and brings one or two dishes to share with everyone...
During one  RAMADAN i was thinking what to take to masjid....and was thinking of making some dessert...then i thought lets take RICE FLOUR PHIRNI..as it is super easy and sure shot recipe...with the best results confirmed..
So here is presenting the recipe of RICE FLOUR PHIRNI..

INGREDIENTS-

9 CUPS WHOLE MILK
5 TABLESPOON RICE FLOUR
1/2 CUP SUGAR
2 TBSPN OF ALMONDS
2 TBSPN OF CASHEWS
FEW DROPS OF KEWRA WATER
2 TBSPN OF GHEE
5 GREEN CARDAMOM
FEW DROPS OF YELLOW FOOD COLOR

TO DECORATE-

SLICED ALMONDS & CASHEWS

METHOD

IN A BIG POT BRING MILK TO BOIL...AND WHILE MILK BOILS TAKE 2 TBSPN GHEE IN A PAN ADD GREEN CARDAMOM AND ROAST RICE FLOUR TILL IT TURNS LIGHT GOLDEN AND BECOMES FRAGRANT.
ONCE MILK COMES TO BOIL ADD SUGAR AND ONCE SUGAR DISSOLVES ADD RICE FLOUR..KEEP STIRRING CONTINUOUSLY SO THAT NO LUMPS ARE FORMED AND THEN LET IT COOK O…

EID KI RAUNAK

Going up on the terrace at maghrib after breaking fast on the last day of Ramadan and anxiously searching for moon...the moon which was very hard to spot in such a big sky as it was of the size of a very very thin nail...

This is how our EID festivities used to begin during our childhood days...

I still remember that excitement of just breaking the fast with dates and water and rushing upstairs with my family to look for moon and then standing their minutely searching the sky for moon...and then asking all the neighbors who like us were also on their terrace's to look for moon..

"CHAAND DIKHA KYA?...KYA LGTA HAI KAL EID HOGI?"





And then we would wait for the announcement from the MARKAZI CHAAND COMMITTEE..about the sighting of the moon...Once the moon sighting was declared we would begin the preparation with lots of zor and shor....

Ek taraf pateela chadh jata tha jispe pakta tha kimami siwain ka sheera.....which needs to be cooked alot to attain the desired consistency.…
